asked the Minister for Health if he will make arrangements to assist, by way of grants, a second year student (details supplied) of occupational therapy at St. Joseph's College, Dún Laoghaire, which is funded by the Eastern Health Board, and which withdrew student grants some years ago, as he will be unable to complete his course, unless he receives a grant, due to the unemployment of his father.

I regret that there are no resources at the disposal of my Department to enable it to make a grant towards the training expenses of this student. The Department does not provide financial assistance for education or training purposes to persons who are not already employed in the health services.
