I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the allowance referred to by the Deputy has been withdrawn from the taxpayer with effect from 1986-87 because he no longer fulfils all the statutory conditions which govern the granting of the allowance. The position has already been explained to the taxpayer in the course of a visit which he made to the tax office. As regards the second part of the Deputy's question the answer is in the negative.
