Per capita consumption of fish has increased by 1.6 lbs from 12.7 lbs in 1982 to 14.3 lbs in 1984. I am satisfied that there is scope for increasing further the per capita consumption of fish in this country and under its development programme, An Bord Iascaigh Mhara has targeted for an increase in per capita consumption of 0.4 lbs per annum over the period 1983-88.
