Vol. 365 No. 11

Written Answers. - Disabled Driver.

43.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider a person (details supplied) in County Clare for special tax concessions as a disabled driver, as a result of loss of an arm; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The schemes of relief from excise duty and value-added tax for disabled drivers are available only to persons who are qualified under section 43 (1) of the Finance Act, 1968. On the basis of the information supplied by the Deputy, the person concerned would not seem to be so qualified and, accordingly, relief would not apply in his case.
