Vol. 366 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Donegal Pier.

89.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for Finance the extent of the work to be carried out at Cassan Sound Pier, St. John's Point, Dunkineely, County Donegal; the amount of money which has been allocated for the project; and if he is satisfied that the work is being adequately supervised and carried out in a satisfactory manner.

The work undertaken by the Commissioners of Public Works at the request of the Department of Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry, at Killultan (Cassan Sound), St. John's Point, comprised the underpinning of the rock stratum, on which the existing sea wall, erected by Donegal County Council, was built.

A grant of £7,125 was allocated by the Department towards the cost of the work, estimated at £9,500. I am sure that the work was adequately supervised and satisfactorily completed.
