The removal of the 1½ per cent stamp duty, Bord na gCon's own incentive scheme and the granting of prize money of £50,000 by the Government have had positive effects on the greyhound industry. There is an increased interest in the export of greyhounds to the USA and I recently had discussions with the Bord on the overall state and development of the industry. I hope also to be in a position shortly to decide if legislative changes are required to improve the industry further.
