asked the Minister for Agriculture the proposals, if any, he has for the protection of the Irish mushroom industry which is under serious threat from the dumping of cheap mushrooms in the Irish markets from other EC countries.

The Irish market for mushrooms is supplied from home production and there are no significant imports.

Irish exports have been rising steadily and made continued progress during 1985. The major export market for Irish mushrooms is Britain where there is particularly keen competition at present due to heavy Community supplies.
