Vol. 369 No. 3

Written Answers. - Land Registry.

185.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will arrange to finalise a dealing (details supplied) in County Offaly pending in the Land Registry.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the dealing in question is being processed in the Land Registry and will be finalised as quickly as possible in the normal way.

186.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will explain the reason for the undue delay by the Land Registry in dealing with an application for registration (details supplied); and if such a delay is now the norm in the Land Registry.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the application referred to in the question was lodged in the Land Registry on 16 December 1985, and completed, and the relevant solicitors notified accordingly, on 24 October 1986.

The application was for the registration of a transfer of part of a folio and the registration of a right of way over a different folio. The average delay at present for completing dealings in already registered lands is 4.7 months. However, applications such as this, which include a transfer of part, are at the longer end of the scale.

There was no undue delay.
