An interdepartmental committee under the chairmanship of the Attorney General is at present considering what legislative or other steps may be necessary to enable ratification by Ireland of the United Nations Convention on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination. The question as to what legislative provisions, if any, will be necessary to enable ratification will be considered further when the committee's report has been received.
