I appreciate the difficulties faced by the principle of large schools who do not have clerical assistance. The re-establishment of the scheme of school secretaries in the case of primary and secondary schools will be considered as soon as circumstances permit. In the interim it is open to schools to apply for clerical assistance under the social employment scheme.
In the case of vocational schools clerical and administrative staff are allocated to vocational education committees and it is a matter for each committee to deploy its staff according to its needs.
