Vol. 370 No. 13

Written Answers. - Youth Training Scheme Statistics.

306.

asked the Minister for Labour the number of young people under 18 years of age who are engaged in each of the training schemes covered by his Department on a county basis; the number engaged in the various training centres; and the type of courses.

A total of 6,903 young people under the age of 18 years are engaged on training schemes under the aegis of my Department. The most detailed information relating to counties, training centres and type of courses is set out below, disaggregated on the basis of AnCO training centres, AnCO external training, CERT and YEA.

With regard to AnCO training centres, Table 1 outlines participants on courses and individual training centres at end November, 1986. A county breakdown is not available. With regard to AnCO external training, Table 2 summarises participants on courses by county in November 1986.

With regard to CERT, it is not possible to give a breakdown by county. However, the following breakdown is by location for persons under 18 on school-based programmes.
