asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a £2,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and when this grant will be paid.

An inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks with a view to payment of the grant. The delay which has arisen in carrying out the inspection is attributable to the high numbers of applications for both new house and improvement grants at present on hands.
