asked the Minister for Agriculture the appropriate total gallonage of milk produced in County Limerick in the years 1983 to 1986 inclusive; and the number of milk suppliers who have (a) milk quotas over 500,000 gallons; (b) quotas between 400,000 and 500,000 gallons; (c) between 300,000 and 400,000 gallons; (d) between 200,000 and 300,000 gallons; (e) between 100,000 and 200,000 gallons; (f) between 90,000 and 100,000 gallons; (g) between 80,000 and 90,000 gallons; (h) between 70,000 and 80,000 gallons; (i) between 60,000 and 70,000 gallons; (j) between 50,000 and 60,000 gallons; (k) between 40,000 and 50,000 gallons; (l) between 30,000 and 40,000 gallons; (m) between 20,000 and 30,000 gallons; (n) between 10,000 and 20,000 gallons; and (o) between 5,000 and 10,000 gallons.

The quota system is operated in Ireland on a purchaser (i.e. co-operative or dairy) basis. Quota details are not therefore available on a county basis. Estimated milk production in County Limerick for the years 1983 to 1985 (1986 not yet available) is as follows: 1983, 99 million gallons; 1984, 111 million gallons; 1985, 114 million gallons.
