Vol. 371 No. 2

Written Answers. - Wexford County Hospital.

173.

asked the Minister for Health the up-to-date position in relation to the proposed modernisation of Wexford County Hospital; when it is envisaged that work will commence on the new surgical theatres, X-ray rooms and out-patient facilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Tenders are currently being sought by the South Eastern Health Board for the provision of a new surgical unit and ancillary facilities at Wexford General Hospital. The timing of the commencement of construction will be considered when the report on the tenders has been submitted by the board to my Department and, pending the receipt and consideration of that report, it is not possible to give a precise starting date for the building work.
