Vol. 371 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Kildare School.

190.

asked the Minister for Education when facilities will be provided at a school (details supplied) in County Kildare; the extent of the facilities to be provided; and the likely time schedule for the provision of these facilities.

The authorities of the school referred to have purchased a four classroom disused school building which is to be adapted and developed for their purposes. Various schemes of development prepared by the school's architect were considered by my Department to be excessively costly. My Department, following discussions which took place on 19 January last with the schools representatives, is at present awaiting submission on a further revised scheme and costings. It is not possible at this stage to give a likely time schedule for the provision of the facilities sought. The overall plan is to have the school provided with four classrooms and a general purposes area, with the usual ancillary accommodation.
