Vol. 371 No. 2

Written Answers. - Staff Transfer.

26.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will appoint a person (details supplied) in County Wexford to any suitable vacancy in County Wexford due to her family circumstances in view of her recent success in the temporary clerical trainee entrance examination.

Vacancies in certain clerical grades in centres outside Dublin are filled in accordance with arrangements settled at general council under the conciliation and arbitration scheme. Applications for transfers outside Dublin are considered by the employing department strictly in the order they are received. The person referred to in the question was appointed on 14 January 1987 and applied for a transfer on 21 January 1987.

The agreed transfer arrangements provide for departure from placings in exceptional circumstances. It is open to applicants for transfer who feel that their cases merit priority to seek such treatment in accordance with the agreed arrangements.
