Vol. 371 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Meath Schools.

83.

asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the developments regarding the provision of an extension to a vocational school (details supplied) in County Meath; when tenders for this extension will be sought; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The examination of the detailed design proposals (Stage 4) submitted in respect of the project referred to by the Deputy is nearing completion in my Department. To determine when the project may proceed further, throught the issue from my Department of authorisation to have bills of quantities prepared and submitted, this case must be reviewed in the context of the capital resources available. It is not possible at this stage to indicate when the project will be released to tender.

84.

asked the Minister for Education if she will give a report on a national school (details supplied) in County Meath for which an extension was sanctioned nine years ago and which now has a roll of 270 pupils; given that the bill of quantities has been prepared if she will inform Deputy Hilliard when tenders will be invited.

Tender documentation is at present being prepared by my Department's professional staff for the proposed extension to the national school referred to in County Meath. I am not in a position at this stage to say when tenders will be invited for the project. I shall, however, arrange for the Deputy and the school authorities to be informed when a decision to invite tenders has been taken.
