Vol. 371 No. 7

Written Answers. - Free Milk.

62.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 is not eligible for babyfood/milk from the Eastern Health Board; and if her position will be reviewed.

The granting of free milk or free babyfood in any individual case is a matter for determination by the health board concerned, having regard to all the relevant circumstances of the case.

I have had inquiries made from the Eastern Health Board in this case and I have been informed that having regard to the applicant's income from the Department of Social Welfare, she is not eligible for free milk or babyfood.

If the applicant is not satisfied with the assessment of means which has been made by the health board, she may write to the Programme Manager, Community Care, Eastern Health Board, Emmet House, 138 Thomas Street, Dublin 8, and the matter will be reviewed.
