asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

The grant has been paid.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

The grant will be paid within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will allow applicants to qualify for the £2,250 new house grant in cases where they have entered into an agreement and closed the sale; and the total cost to the Government of paying the grant in cases where the sale has been closed but the grant not approved.

The £2,250 new house grants will be paid in cases where applications were approved on or before 27 March 1987 or where applicants can satisfy me that they had entered into legally binding and irrevocable commitments on or before that date. The cost of paying the grants to those coming within the second category mentioned above cannot be determined at this stage.

Notification of completion of work has not been received.

The second instalment of the mortgage subsidy has been paid.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

A new house grant and mortgage subsidy cannot be paid in this case as contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme the application for the grant and subsidy was not received in my Department within one year from the date of occupation of the house.
