A new house grant cannot be paid as the application was not received before the closing date of 6 March 1987 and a substantial part of the work was not carried out by a registered contractor.

The application was among those covered by the dispensation from prior inspection announced in February 1986. Notification issued to the applicant authorising him to proceed with the work in respect of which his application was made subject to the conditions of the scheme other than the prior inspection requirement, applicable when he applied for the grant. As requested, however, an inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.
