Vol. 372 No. 8

Written Answers. - Reinstatement to Civil Service.

78.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will appoint a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who applied for reinstatement to the Civil Service in February 1986, to his Department in Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person concerned served in the headquarters of the Department in Dublin up to 29 December 1964 when she resigned on marriage. Following the death of her husband she applied in February 1986 to be reinstated at the Department's local employment exchange in Waterford. There are, however, no vacancies at present in the Waterford office of the Department to which she could be appointed. If she wishes to be reinstated in a headquarters office of the Department she should indicate accordingly to the Department and her application will be considered at the first opportunity. She could then be put on a waiting list for transfer to Waterford in accordance with normal procedures when a vacancy arises there.
