While my Department do not employ youth workers directly, funds are made available annually to youth organisations as part of their overall grant support to enable them to employ such staff.
The final allocation to my Department for the support of youth work and related services is still under review and, until a decision is made on the matter, I am not in a position to say whether funding will be available to the organisations towards the employment of youth workers after June 1987.
