asked the Minister for Education if she will give the following details in respect of the committee set up by her Department and the Department of Finance to review policy in relation to planning and provision of new or replacement accommodation at primary and post-primary level (a) the date on which the committee was established; (b) the number of meetings held to date; (c) if an interim report will be produced; (d) when the final report will be available; (e) its terms of reference; (f) if the report will be published either in full or in abbreviated form; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

(a) The committee was set up in March 1987; (b) Seven meetings have been held to date; (c) It is not intended to produce an interim report; (d) The final report is expected before the end of June; (e) The terms of reference of the committee are:
A thorough review of policy in relation to the planning and provision of new and replacement accommodation at primary and post-primary level is to be carried out jointly by the Departments of Finance and Education for submission to the Government before 1 July, 1987.
(f) The report is confidential to the Ministers for Finance and Education. It will be a matter for decision by Government whether or not the report will be published — either in full or in abbreviated form.
