Vol. 376 No. 5

Written Answers. - Ashbourne (County Meath) By-Pass.

224.

asked the Minister for Education if she has received a proposal from Meath County Council for an alteration in the route of the proposed road by-pass of Ashbourne, County Meath which would reduce the extent of its incursion on the site of the proposed second level school at Ashbourne, County Meath; if this proposal necessitates any redesign of the plan for either the second level, or for the all-Irish primary schools proposed for the site; if so, in what respects; and if no decision has been made on this matter, when such a decision will be made.

My Department have received such a proposal and its implications on plans for the proposed schools are at present being examined.

I am not in a position at this stage to say when the final decision will be made. I wish to assure the Deputy, however, that there will be no undue delay by my Department in this matter.
