(Limerick East) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if payment of an installation grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The person mentioned owned land in excess of the maximum allowable area of 0.5 hectares prior to acquiring the lands on which his application under the scheme of installation aid for young farmers was based. Consequently, he is ineligible for payment of an installation premium.

Before eligibility under the scheme of installation aid for young farmers can be determined, a detailed investigation of each application must be carried out. In this case the investigation has not yet been completed. If the applicant is found to be eligible, payment of the premium will be made as soon as budgetary constraints permit and I will inform the Deputy at the appropriate time.
