Vol. 376 No. 11

Written Answers. - Swords (Dublin) School Extension.

111.

asked the Minister for Education in the light of her reply to Parliamentary Question No. 275 of 28 October 1987 (a) if she will clarify what was meant by good quality prefabricated classrooms (b) when sanction was issued for a placing of the contract (c) when it is expected that work will commence (d) the number of rooms and facilities envisaged and (e) when it is expected that work will be completed.

The following are the further points of information requested supplementary to my reply to Question No. 275 of 28 October, 1987: (a) the term good-quality prefabricated classrooms is intended to convey system-built classrooms more durable than the ordinary prefabricated classrooms and, therefore, having a longer life-span (b) 3 November, 1987 was the date on which the school authorities were authorised to place the contract (c) work is understood to have commenced already on the site (d) the project comprises eight classrooms with appropriate ancillary accommodation including a remedial room, a library, untility rooms, staffroom and principal's office and (e) work is expected to be completed at the end of April 1988.
