The question of payment of grants is a matter for local authorities who are statutorily entrusted with the administration of the scheme. However, it is understood from Kildare County Council, the body administering the scheme in this student's area, that the maintenance element of the grant was paid recently and that the fee portion will be paid directly to the college concerned in the near future.
