asked the Minister for Education in view of the terms of the Programme for National Recovery dealing with adult literacy, section IV 19, if she will confirm that the National Adult Literacy Campaign will receive the grant aid of £42,000 which it needs to maintain the service which is the same amount that it was awarded in 1985; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

As I indicated in the Dáil on 3 November 1987 in reply to a supplementary question, I plan to provide a grant of £28,000 for NALA in 1988 as in 1987. I confirmed this at a recent meeting with representatives of NALA.
