There are three work survey type projects being carried out by the management services unit of my Department at present. These are:
1. Efficiency audit of the Department of Agriculture and Food, ACOT and AFT.
Purpose: To determine a basis on which resources could be redeployed and redistributed.
2. Review of the meat sector, Department of Agriculture and Food.
Purpose: To examine and report on staffing, grading, systems, procedures and effectiveness.
3. Review of accounts branch, Department of Finance.
Purpose: To examine and report on the work of the accounts branch with regard to work organisation, systems and procedures, staff numbers, grades and skills required.
In addition, the unit provides an ongoing service to Departments and offices in regard to the provision of office equipment, forms design and staff suggestion schemes.
