Because of the pressure on the capital available in 1988 to my Department for its national schools building programme, it will not be possible in the current financial year to advance further the planning of the extension scheme for Ballykerwick national school, County Cork, along the lines originally proposed. Discussions are however taking place with the school authorities on the possibility of some short-term relief being provided in connection with their accommodation problems. These discussions have not yet been concluded. I will arrange for the Deputy to be informed of developments in due course.
