40.

asked the Minister for Education if, in view of the decision in the budget to allocate an extra £6.5 million for primary school building, she will confirm that the construction of a new school in Portlaw, County Waterford, which has been sought for a period of 18 years, will now proceed.

56.

108.

asked the Minister for Education if the Ashbourne second level school, County Meath, will commence in 1988 out of additional moneys which were made available in the budget taking into consideration the view of the Minister of State in her Department that there is no more critical need for a second level school in Ireland; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

117.

asked the Minister for Education if she will authorise the commencement of work on the construction of the community college, Seán MacDermott Street, Dublin 1, this year in view of the allocations for school buildings in the budget; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 37, 40, 56, 108, 111, 115 and 117 together. The announcement of the allocation of additional capital for primary and second level school building was made by the Minister for Finance in his budget speech on 27 January 1988. As the allocation was made on a global basis, no individual projects were specified. I am not yet in a position to indicate the projects which will be grant-aided from the additional allocation.
