Information on the lines sought is not available in respect of the year 1976. The earliest date for which detailed staffing returns were furnished by the local authority to my Department was 31 December, 1978. Based on the returns furnished by the local authority the number of engineers and other staff employed by Offaly County Council was 341 on 31 December 1978 and 394 on 31 December 1986. These figures include permanent, temporary and part-time personnel.
