An inspection with a view to payment of the grant will be carried out as soon as possible.

92.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Clare.

The application relates to the 1977 improvement grants scheme. A grant cannot be paid because, contrary to a condition of the scheme, notification of completion of work was not received in the Department by 30 June 1981.

93.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant is not being paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare since he has complied with all specifications; the reason he is being requested to submit additional information; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the registered contractor carried out the work as per specification; if not, the way in which he deviated from same; his Department's original estimate for the cost of the works; the amount of grant approved; the builder's estimate; the actual cost; when the work was completed; and the reason for the delay in payment.

Additional information was sought from the applicant to determine his entitlement to a grant and the amount, if any, payable. Pending receipt of this information, certain details requested by the Deputy cannot be provided. The Department's original estimate and the amount of grants approved were £8,860 and £4,040, respectively.

94.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a house improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare has been paid; and if not, the reason; and when it will be paid.

The receipt of certain information requested from the applicant is awaited.

95.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in deciding on an appeal made over a year ago by a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8; where an application for a lower level of grant than he thought justified was made; whether a higher level of grant will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An inspection of the house has been arranged and the applicant will be notified of the outcome.
