Vol. 379 No. 10

Written Answers. - Ballymount (Dublin) Plant Strike.

61.

asked the Minister for Labour if his attention has been drawn to the on-going strike in Irish Printed Circuits Ltd., Ballymount, Dublin 12, over the refusal of the management to recognise the trade union; if he will use the powers available to him to intervene; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware that a strike has been in progress in Irish Printed Circuits since Monday, 21 March last.

I understand that Manufacturing, Science and Finance, the union involved in the dispute, have unilaterally referred the matter to the Labour Court for investigation under section 20 (1) of the Industrial Relations Act, 1969. I also understand that the Labour Court has arranged a hearing in the matter for Tuesday, 3 May.
