asked the Minister for Labour if he will review Teamwork rules and conditions to allow projects which fully involve young people in their organisation and operation to obtain grant-aid in the light of the European Social Affairs Council decision made on December 1987 on the five year action programme in relation to vocational training for young people; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Teamwork Projects.
The action programme which is at present being considered under the terms of the European Social Affairs Council Decision of 1 December 1987 provides for limited funding for a small number of international projects at European level. Projects are being submitted and will be examined by both the Departments of Labour and Education. Approximately six innovative projects will be selected and funding levels will be 10,000 to 30,000 ECU each per annum (approximately £7,000 to £21,000). The conditions of the action programme require an international dimension for eligibility for financial assistance and Teamwork projects would not qualify.
