asked the Minister for the Environment if an application has been made to his Department by Dublin County Council for the provision of the necessary moneys to construct 12 nominee houses in the Saggart/Rathcoole/ Newcastle areas of County Dublin; if so, if he will make the finance available to allow the local authority to proceed with the provision of these houses; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the nominees in this case have been awaiting the building of these houses for approximately five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The capital allocation notified to Dublin County Council on the 21 March 1988 for their 1988 housing construction programme included a sum of £115,000 to finance the commencement of new single dwellings and small schemes of two to five houses. It is a matter for the council to determine the order of priority for such new house starts within the provision made for this purpose in 1988.
