Vol. 380 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tralee, Kerry, Primary School.

170.

asked the Minister for Education if funds will be made available for repairs to the Holy Family primary school, Tralee, County Kerry.

The Deputy is understood to be referring to the condition of the roof of the Holy Family national school, Tralee, County Kerry, which is affecting the school's general purposes area. The building in question was designed by consultants in private practice engaged by the school authorities on whom it is incumbent to investigate the matter in the first instance.

A member of my Department's professional staff is assisting the school with its inquiries with a view to establishing how the condition occurred, how it can be dealt with and at what cost. Whether it should be appropriate for my Department to allocate funds towards the cost of works would not arise for consideration until these inquiries have been completed.
