In accordance with a resolution passed by Dáil Éireann on 9 March 1988, the implications of the decision to increase the pupil-teacher ratio in the post-primary sector are currently being examined under the aegis of the central review committee of the Programme for National Recovery. The Deputy will appreciate that it would be inappropriate for me to comment on the position in any particular vocational education scheme pending the outcome of that examination.
