Ceisteanna — Questions Oral Answers - Tralee General Hospital.
The total capital cost of the Tralee General Hospital project, including the cost of construction work, fees and equipment, is of the order of £26 million.
The Southern Health Board was the employer under the terms of this contract and the main contractor was paid by the board in accordance with certificates issued by the architects as the work progressed. These certificates included any amounts due to nominated sub-contractors and the contract required the main contractor to pay these sub-contractors. The main contractor was Messrs P.J. Walls (D) Ltd. and the amount paid by the board to this company in respect of all contract work (including sub-contracts) was £17.684 million. The information which the Deputy is seeking in relation to the sub-contractors is being assembled in my Department and I will send it to him in the near future.
