Vol. 382 No. 1

Written Answers. - Bone Marrow Transplants.

48.

asked the Minister for Health if the waiting list for bone marrow transplants at St. James's Hospital, Dublin 8, has been closed; and if so, the reason.

The waiting list for bone marrow transplants in St James's Hospital has not been closed. The number of transplants to be performed during 1988 has been decided upon by the hospital authorities. It is a matter for the consultants involved to assess each case referred to them and to determine the priority attached to each patient. The priority list is regularly reviewed.
