The 1988 list of approved stallions was received from the printers on 25 April and was on display and for sale at the ACOT horse conference in Kildalton on 27 April. It was also available for sale at the Department of Agriculture and Food stand at the Spring Show. The availability of the approved list of stallions was highlighted by correspondents in the farming press. It was advertised in the farming press on 21 May to ensure that any breeders, who might have missed the earlier publicity, would be aware of the publication.
I am satisfied that the list was not published too late to be useful. I will arrange that the list will be published each year as close as possible to the commencement of the breeding season.
