Vol. 382 No. 7

Written Answers - Sports Clubs Grant Applications.

51.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application for a grant from National Lottery funds towards the cost of the new £100,000 clubhouse of Lucan Pitch and Putt Club, County Dublin; if he will make a decision on the application; and if he will give details of the grant which will be made available for the project.

52.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the old changing rooms for Neilstown Rangers Athletic Football Club, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 have been burnt to the ground; that the club which runs eight junior and two senior football teams as well as a boxing club have a proposal for a small clubhouse cum changing rooms at a cost of an estimated £60,000; if, in view of the high level of unemployment in the area, he will agree to a substantial grant from the National Lottery funds towards this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 51 and 52 together.

There is no application in my Department for a grant from National Lottery funds in respect of either project. In any event, the monies which were made available to my Department from this source have already been allocated.
