Vol. 382 No. 11

Written Answers. - National Pensions Board Report.

27.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare in relation to the report of the National Pensions Board regarding the need to regulate occupational pension schemes, whether he intends to implement any or all of their recommendations.

The National Pensions Board in the report referred to made wide-ranging proposals for the future regulations of occupational pension schemes under a number of key headings. Following the publication of the report I asked all the major interests involved, namely employers, trade unions and the pensions industry for their views on the recommendations. In the light of those views proposals for legislation are being prepared which I will be putting before the Government for approval with a view to introducing legislation to give effect to the measures.
