asked the Minister for the Environment if he will list the professional bodies and institutions which his Department formally recognises as representing the professional interest and concerns of (a) Irish architects (b) Irish engineers (c) Irish quantity surveyors (d) Irish planners and (e) Irish landscape architects; and if, in respect of those organisations, he will indicate the form of recognition and contact which is held between his Department and their representative presidents and secretariats; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

While there is no provision for formal recognition by my Department on the lines indicated, correspondence and other contact takes place with the various bodies in question as the occasion arises. A list of bodies with which my Department had contact in the recent past is being compiled and will be sent to the Deputy.
