Vol. 384 No. 5

Written Answers. - Criminal Injuries Tribunal Compensation.

69.

asked the Minister for Justice the waiting time for compensation from the Criminal Injuries Tribunal; the allocation which has been made for 1989; and the value of compensation awaiting payment.

The waiting time for compensation awarded by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal is the same as that indicated in my answers to Dáil Questions Nos. 46 on 25 October 1988 and 10 and 84 on 15 November 1988, namely, in the order of 12 months.

The allocation made for 1989 in respect of compensation for personal injuries criminally inflicted is contained in the published Estimates for Public Services (Abridged version) for 1989.

As of 21 November 1988 there were 777 awards totalling £3,943,000 awaiting payment.
