Vol. 384 No. 8

Written Answers. - Fishing Activity Monitoring.

161.

asked the Minsiter for the Marine the steps he is taking to ensure that by-laws are enforced in relation to access and the type of trawlers which can use Inver Bay, County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Fishing activity in Inver Bay, Co. Donegal is being monitored by the Department's Sea Fisheries Officers at present with a view to ensuring that the by-law prohibiting trawling in that area is being observed. If necessary the assistance of the Naval Service and Garda will be sought.

Any information which would help this Department's sea fisheries officers in their efforts would be greatly appreciated.
