asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to the repairs and extension for Rylane national school, County Cork.

My Department have sanctioned a grant towards the cost of improvement at Rylane national school, County Cork, and of adding a new toilet block. A contract was recently placed for the project but work has not yet started because of bad weather. The contractor has indicated that work will be commenced at an early date.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to the extension of Stuake national school, Donoughmore, County Cork.

The Deputy is understood to be referring to the national school known officially as Ballykerwick national school, Donoughmore, County Cork, grant aiding the extension of which has been approved in principle by my Department. The school's application for an allocation from the capital to be made available in 1989 to my Department for its national schools building programme is under consideration in conjunction with applications from other schools in a similar position. The school authorities will be informed of developments as soon as possible.
