Written Answers. - Coastal Rescue Operations.

51.

asked the Minister for the Marine the number of occasions this year on which the British authorities were asked to assist in rescue operations off the Irish coast.

The UK Authorities provide on request search and rescue fixed-wing aircraft and hilicopters, both Royal Air Force and Royal Navy, to carry out missions over waters contained within our area of responsibility. Such assistance has been provided on ten occasions during the period 1 January 1988 to 31 October 1988.
