The number of operating licences issued by my Department to companies under section 2 (1) of the Customs-Free Airport (Amendment) Act, 1958, to enable them to set up operations in the Shannon Free Zone was 12 in 1987 and 64 in 1988 to date.
The other information sought by the Deputy relates to the day to day administration of industrial policy on the Shannon Free Zone by the Shannon Free Airport Development Company Limited and is not, therefore, a matter for which I am directly responsible.
