I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that it was not possible to deal with the taxpayer's claim to a repayment of tax in default of receipt of certain information which had been requested. This information has now been received and the claim will be processed without delay. Any tax found to have been overpaid will then be refunded.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that cheques in settlement of refunds due for 1986-87 and 1987-88 were issued to the taxpayer on 13 January 1989.
